So SIAD is on March 1st. So what is everyone going to do to help spread awareness? I personally am going to wear orange and try and be strong enough to show my scars all day without be ashamed. Any other suggestions?

You have to remember that those scars are not who you are - they don't define you as a person. They're just..marks. Footprints from a different time...a different life. ~In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God. (Ps 62.7)~

I put some posters up around the SU. I'm doing tours of the uni tomorrow, and will be wearing my orange bracelet then, as well as Sunday.
Wake me up before I change again
Remind me the story that I won't get insane
Tell me why it's always the same
Explain me the reason why I'm so much in pain.
I've postered all the bus stops in the main 2 streets of aberdeen last night..
doing he uni today...
doing torry and cove on Saturday (and rosemount and the supermarkets if can)
and holding an information stall where selling orange ribbons (profit goign to charity) on sunday at the uni halls
I'm going to wear my orange wrist band and place the SI posters up around my town.
Don't be fooled by my smooth skin. The deepest scars are the ones unseen.

we are the shattered
we are the unheard
we are the brave
we are the strong we are Survivors. and..... we are the future

rustedchains and I are doing some stuff at our school today! (Since obviously, there's no school on Sunday).
She's pretty much been the brains behind it all =) She designed some excellent posters to put up around campus, flyers that we will have on a table near the cafeteria for people to pick up, and the best part -- t-shirts for us! They all have the same slogan: "Step up. Reach out. There's hope." I like it =)
I contributed my talents in putting together ribbons (which we're also going to have on the table by the cafeteria for people to take) and putting the iron-on transfers on the t-shirts =P
I am currently wearing bright orange pants, my t-shirt, an orange ribbon, an orange bandanna, and orange ribbons in my hair. Hehe...it's quite fun.
We're going to wear our t-shirts to church on Sunday too, and see if we can hand out some ribbons and flyers there. Yay SIAD =D
Don't really know much about that day. Do we just like... talk to people about SI or something? I'm all for telling people about it, but I just wanted to make sure that was the point.

its just raising awareness, so whatever you feel comfortable with, some will just wear orange without an explanation and some people have gone and put up posters all over town are selling ribbons and such. its just however you feel comfortable promoting awareness for SI =] x
