Triggering (Sexual Abuse) - Tutor found out

One of my tutors found out that I had been through SA I thought that she would have to report it or something, but it OK We can keep it quiet! She's even looking into some things for me. Also, she is going to find out if we have to cover ab*se as a unit. After talking to her, I wasn't worried as much about her knowing - I had been thinking about telling her because she is so good and I felt comfortable in doing so, I was only worried about her having to tell. But then I told my friend about her knowing and she really paniced me and kept asking why

I'm glad it went well. I'm fairly sure that they don't have to tell unless the abuse is ongoing.

She kept asking why... and then she got to 'you didn't want anyone knowing did ya'... But I have never actually said that lol What I mean is... Oh I don't know how to describe it :/ Well I have got to a point where I don't want to be silenced anymore! It would be a heck of a lot easier if it was out in the open. If it wasn't for my Mum keeping quiet all this time, waiting for me to decide what to do. I think I probably would of told them so it was out.

hi, well done in telling her! im glad it all went ok for you. I did something similar with one of my teachers. i told her about my suicide attempt, even tho it was only the week before i'd done it. anyway she was great, tho she did tell my head of year and they both sat me down and explained that they could "keep quiet". I think it was coz, they both knew all **** i'd been through and i was one of those goody two shoes kids, a model pupil, never in trouble, always did rly well in my work. i was rly lucky. but yeah, some ppl can be so nice and helpful in times like those. sorry for rambling, i just wanted share experience i'd had xXx

It sounds like you are at a good point in your path to health. You want to let out things you have been keeping bottled in. I am glad the expereince was a positive one. You need to do what is right for you in your own time. I told many people and counselors and such before I ever decided if I was going to press charges. It helped me to figure out what to do.
