I resently went to visit my abusers grave...


After I left him he ended up with another person (claire), and they had a daughter together, before he died of a heroine overdose a few months ago... I went there and stayed with Claire, it was strange... I even visited his mother...


thing is... I was talking to claire, I was a little worried about wheither or not he did anything to her... and it ends up that other than the drug use there relationship was fine...

so now I'm thinking... why me and not her?

There are a million and one things that could have been different, but sweetie - he decided to act that way towards you. It's his fault.

A lot of times people get singled out for abuse because the bad people hate their innocence. People can see an innocent person and they can hate them because it reminds them of what they have lost. So they get a kick out of degrading such people. Another reason is some people seem easier to victimise because they cant or wont fight back. Lots of kids really dont know how to protect themselves. Parents and others can make this worse be conditioning kids to have ti play the victim by making them endure things that are wrong.
