Becky (xbeckyx) would appreciate advice, please read.

Becky (xbeckyx) has asked me to post on her behalf as she is in hospital and cannot get online.

She is wondering if anyone has experience with going to schools/work places to do talks about mental health/self half and has any advice or pointers that would help? Becky wants to do a talk (although not straight away as she wants to be free from self harm for a good period of time).

Any help/advice would be appreciated for Becky.

Thanks.

PM me if you want a PDF copy of the ICD-10 or the Mental Health Act 1983/2007. I ALSO HAVE THE DSM-V BOOK and am a pharmacology student.

I have a visual impairment / neurological problems so I need people to type in clear text and no funny fonts. Also excuse any typos, my vision blocks things out.
I have autism and have problems communicating, PMs included.
Just becasue I type well doesn't mean I speak well. I am only part time verbal.

I am currently:

I've done training for nursing and OT students. It helped me to do the first few times with someone who had done it before.

I haven't had any personal experience but I wonder if it might be worth going through a charity and seeing if they have anything like that, that Becky could tap in to?

Ok I'll pass that onto her (although she is struggling atm so I think I will wait until she feels better).

A few years a go I went around collages to do some talks about self injury and depression. I asked NSHN for their support and they sent me free leaflets and wristbands. They were very supportive so let her know it's worth informing charities about what she wants to do.

Good luck to her.
All the best xoxox

I did some talks on self harm and eating disorders a few years ago. I basically did it by contacting schools myself

but i am sure there will be charities that do something similar
