I wanted to be a firewoman when I was about 6 but from then onwards wanted to be a Nurse and now I still want to do either paeds nursing or specialist play therapy.
Apparently when I was 4 I told my mum I wanted to be a paperclip when I grew up (wtf?!!)
Then I wanted to be a mermaid. Unfortunately it appeared that could be tricky.
I wanted to be a writer (still do tbh), then a marine biologist, then a geneticist. Now I'm halfway through a history degree and hoping to be a history university lecturer, lol.
Ask me mistakes I have made
Ask me whether what I have done is my life
Others have come, in their slow way -
And some have come to help, or to hurt -
Ask me what difference
Their strongest love or hate has made.

When I was 5 I wanted to be an astronaut or a marine biologist, since then I've wanted to be a midwife. Right now I'm a nursing assistant and I love my job. But I'm still applying (for the 3rd time) to study midwifery at uni again, I'll continue going until I get in!

Do you like my cookies? They're made just for you
A little bit of sugar, but lots of poison, too
I wanted to be an archaeologist, space explorer living on the Battlestar Galactica (the 1979 version), police officer, writer, vet ...
And now I'm an intelligence officer for my local police force (cool most of the time), have a degree in archaeology and write fanfiction. So not bad, at all!
You don't have to be a monkey to recognize a banana!
I always wanted to be a Doctor. After my first mini breakdown at 17, I realised that wasn't going to be an option, so trained to be a Nurse, next best thing I thought. I really enjoyed it, until I had my big breakdown. Realise now I can't be in the medical field, not well enough to pursue anything else at the moment, but starting to consider options.

Now I'm looking forward to the dusty world of academia. When I finish my BA I ail do an MA in medieval history and then a doctorate. I'm 32 on november 14th and I finally know what I want to do with my life. I'm so glad I've made it this far- I shouldn't be alive and the fact that I am and my ambitions are still alive and kicking is surprising. I really hope this lasts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"It seemed unthinkable for me to leave the world forever before I had produced all that I felt called upon to produce."
"I will take fate by the throat; it will never bend me completely to its will."
I wanted to be a photographer, but my parents were less than flush so I never got my camera. I became a chef, bought my own camera and taught myself photography, now I can't do either any more. Go figure.
I almost always just wanted to be a doctor except for a brief moment when I was 6 or 7 when I wanted to be a preacher. I think my 6 year old self just liked the idea of everyone having to sit there and listen to me.
I decided that I wanted to be a doctor when I was 5/6, and then about a year older that changed to a surgeon. And that ambition never really went away even now I still sort of want to be a surgeon lol (currently a maths teacher)
I wanted to be the standard princess, vet, actress, singer, teacher etc. Then I want to be an astrophysicist, then I wanted to be a youth worker, then I wanted to study theology. Now I'm hoping to stay in University and do a Masters Degree when I graduate. Still not sure what I want to do with my life after that!
Do not be dismayed by the brokenness of the world. All things can be mended. Not with time, as they say, but with intention. So go. Love intentionally, extravagantly, unconditionally. The broken world awaits in darkness for the light that is you.
I apparently wanted to be a ballet dancer in Ireland when I was about 5. Then wanted to be a vet for many years despite being allergic to animals.
I wanted to be a teacher for a while, then a doctor, went to medical school, and now I'm hopefully going to train to be a maths teacher. Awkwardly my mother is a maths teacher and my father is a doctor. I lack creativity, it would appear :p
