I am struggling so much with stats assignments at the moment. And I'm only in the first year, it's gonna be even worse next year. :( Meh.

Ooh, I'm doing Psychology too. I hope it doesn't get harder then, heh.

The marks I'm getting are fine, so I'm just overreacting, but I'm just spending hours and hours going over it to try and understand it all and ugh.

Stats takes up too much time!

Ugh, I hate psychology stats. 2nd year stats isn't too bad. I got lost in first year with stats and never really found my way again. I thought I was going to get in a major stress about doing the stats for my final year project but my supervisor's being really helpful.
Do you have to use SPSS? I think that's what really threw me - they never explained what the numbers meant or what we were working out. Just "hit this button, then this one, then this one".

I think we learn SPSS next year. That's partly what's confusing me too though - I'm doing all the workings out, but I don't know what I'm working out, or why I have to do that to work it out. Ugh, hopefully will get better! Haha

for the subject? not to my knowledge
i know theres a general support officer but he appears to deal more with the work side, like essay techniques n referencing etc

maybe you could speak to student support?

I've never heard of their being one for a department... but the general one has more power than you think lol

erm, I just got an e-mail from my department about not having submitted a form saying which dissertation supervisor I want. The thing is, its the end of term today, and I don't know what to do about it. I tried to sort this out a few months ago but got nowhere, I mean, it'd be nice if when is poke to people in the department about it back then if they'd actually been helpful, but instead I gave up due to the number of beauracratic barriers in place.

gah. Still, I have written a dissertation proposal out in full, which is more than some people who I know have done. :-/ I hate my department, they're so ****ing useless when you actually go and speak to them for help with things. I never know when anyone's office hours are, and even if you turn up during office hours they're not always there etc. I really do need a supervisior who knows something about my chosen topic, but, what can I do?

Is there anyone in your department who knows about your topic? Or at least has some knowledge of it? If so, e-mail them and ask if they would be your dissertation supervisor. Also mention that you have written out your full proposal form and you'd be willing to send it if they wanted to see it.

if i didnt feel so **** and out of it id be doing the same as you tonight, i hope your essay writing goes well

iv just thought tho...if i ask someone about it by the time they reply itl be too late if i cant get 40%

*HUGS* Good luck. I have no idea how that works but I hope you find someone to sort it out!

I'm in an airport waiting to get back to my university. My flight's delayed (big surprise). I get to work on a project too.

So I'll be back and whining a lot on here again starting.... now
