I think we finish for Easter later than most unis. We don't finish 'til 9th April. It's weird thinking first year is almost over already though.

Glasgow used to have the three term system, so had exams in January and May/June. Then they moved to a three-term/two-semester system which basically combined spring and summer terms together. Now they work on a two-semester system so exams are before Christmas and there are no lectures after Easter, basically just straight into exams.
We usually start sometime in September, and officially finish in June, but it's just whenever your exams are over.

I've got so much work due for after easter and I'm moving house and co-ordinating the 2 is confusing me. But I'm meeting my mentor on monday to come up with an action plan so hopefully that will be useful.
I get one week (this week). It's spring break and not even remotely near Easter.
Then again I'm in the US and we're weird

Thank you for all of your help and support. I will no longer be coming to RYL. Semi-explanation will be inside my profile.

I always find summer insanely long. This year I finish on the 19th of May and then won't start again until the middle of September. Chances of me getting another job in this climate are slim to none, so I won't be doing anything. Apart from my dissertation.

Bah got to face uni again. Another meeting. a meeting to decide the action we will be taking against the uni... a sit in seems even more likely.

the fact that we are paying over 3 grand a year in fees and out tutors time will be cut from 5 days a week to technically teaching 1.5 days a week to teach 8 different groups of people. the fact that our budget has been cut by 50% because of the new dean that will not see us. We have been lied to and we are sick of it. yesterdays meeting we managed to get most of the course there even though it was organised at 3:30pm the day before.i dont know if the tutors will stick around when pay is cut that much!

Jane is sounds like your uni is in a pretty bad state! My uni wants to expand my department, but a lot of the lecturers are against it.

Has anyone else had to interview members of university staff such as accommodation or admin? I always get quite intimidated by them, especially since I'm asking some questions which might be quite sensitive. And so far I'm needing to send my dissertation to three separate university services, as well as my supervisor. What if it's rubbish?!
