No, we need to sort things about amongst ourselves. Everyone gets the same grade too, so it doesn't matter if two or three people do everything, we'll all get the same marks.
I hope your group gets their backsides in gear! I'm sure it'll work out in the end!
My essays are done, well so that I could hand them in, but I still want to do some editing. I feel like I can relax a bit more though!

Okay, I know that was meant in good humour, but it really gets me. You do have a lot of work, clearly, but I have 20 hours a week, and am expected to do 4 hours of extra reading and research for every unit each week. Arts subjects aren't easy options.
/end rant
sorry... didn't mean anything by it...
also you seem to have a lot of work... I was mainly commenting on people who have like 6 hours of lectures a week (which a few of my arts friends have) I know that there is a rediculas amount of outside lecture work for arts students compared to science and I said that in a later post... I never meant they were easy... for 1/2 of my first year I was an anthropology student and I transfered to neuroscience as it seemed like an easier choice... (though now doing physiology which is bloody hard) so I know arts aren't an easy option
that is one of the advantages to my timetable... as i have so much stuff I have to go in to the uni... if I only hd 3 hours a week I probably just wouldn't bother going in would seem to much effort to walk all the way there for like 1 lecturelol (and then probably get kicked out...)
I've never really nderstood why there is such a difference.. I mean I know essays take up a lot of time so they will want to give you less lecturers to make time for them... but lab reports take time too... though I guess you have more reading...
I don't know... it's always just struck me as an odd discrepancy... surely taught lecturers are useful...
i have three hours of lectures its crap, i want to be taught for all the money im/the government is paying them.
its ridiculous, most of the work i do is reading and own research, i might as well pay myself
University is all about independent learning. The lecturers aren't there to teach, they are there to guide you and answer any questions you might have.
I'd much rather be given a reading list and an idea of what I should be reading than be spoon-fed information.
yeah i like independant learning i just wish there was more of a balance.
i just seems my course dont really give you anything, where as other courses there are lots of contact hours.
i think there should be more of a balnce. inot neccesarily more lectures but more seminars, so theres more discussion.
i prefer seminars to lectures anyway.
Do you not get course feedback forms or have student reps or anything? If not find some students who agree with you and go see the course convenor. It's unlikely they'd be able to do much about it now, but it might be good to pitch the idea to other lecturers taking future classes.
I personally prefer lectures because my tutorials always ended up with me and a friend arguing until the death with everyone else, tutor included.
I have a presentation to do after Easter, not looking forward to it. For assessed ones I'm allowed to do written work instead, but this one is non-assessed so I have to just grin and bear it. I just clam up and can't breathe when trying to speak in front of people.
wish I could do written work instead...
for other courses I can do one infront of just the tutor, but this guy thinks I'm making things up to get "special treatment" :/
Sorry, I know you didn't. I wasn't having a go at you, just generally I dislike the fact that people see arts subjects as an easy option, when I (and others) have so much work and not enough hours in the day!
Sorry if it came across badly.
You'll be fine with your presentation. I think it's the anticipation that is worse a lot of the time.
Spoons, get well soon!
