Hmm... Im just thnking bout all the comments guess. The Butterfly Playground Park thing could be made again :)
I was just wonering the opinions and stuff from others about this in general around the boards.
I really have no words... Just that I do it because it comforts me in a way. Some the examples I see that some people do Little Talk as to say is bit... extreme. Poor wording and sorry. But... I understand and can see your guys and gals perspectives.
Thanks for replyin :)
Sometimes its that the person wants to be little. Think DID would maybe be where they speak little and probly wouldnt be able to use the computer or other stuff ...
These kicks take me far away my dear; Far away from myself Far away from my troubles
Far away from heaven
The The Butterfly Playground Park sgtill exists, it just hasn't been posted in for ages so is on like the 4th page or something... it's still there though if you search for it

a what? thats ridiculous, im sure i would have heard of such a thing.
agreed! I keep on top of recent discoveries and developments, I would definitely of heard of this, if it were a real thing. *marches off to dragon's den with Becky*

Thank you for explaining that, like I said I have very little knowledge of things DID, alters etc so your reply was interesting :)

Thank you! I've always wondered that, too. It actually makes more sense.
Personally, if people use it as a coping mechanism then that's fine. If an individual like a friend or partner use it then I get a little creeped out. Ultimately I guess there's a fine line between actual coping mechanism and a way just to invoke a reaction out of others. For example, I've had friends from here in the past where I've always wondered "X & Y doesn't add up, but A & B do - where's the truth end, the white lies start and maybe this is all one big lie?". Trust is something that everyone here wishes they could have in others, but sometimes boundaries are crossed and that's why I'm always wary of 'little talk'. Not that I'm stating those who use it are liars, just that I know one or two who have over-exaggerated things for various reasons. Though for them, 'little talk' was just the tip of the iceberg. Bad experiences? Hell yeah.

Why wouldn't they pick up spelling in that case? And how does reading ability work? Because few four year olds would be able to read and comprehend the vast majority of posts on here, yet these "littles" or "alters" can and do.
I don't know... that's just what a psych told me when I asked a few questions, we didn't really go into it deeply as I was reffered a few weeks later, that and I never really thought about the reading side of things... I guess what it comes to spelling they use ponetics as it's easier? I'm really not sure though, I can't spell anyway so never thought about it lol
Also should point you (and i risk flames here) that a high % of the people who do it do NOT have DID/MPD or any other form of alter ego. It's a conscious choice to 'tap in' to their younger mind. Not a bad thing, I just think it's important to distinguish between the very, very, very rare cases of alter personalities and those who chose to switch between their mind sets.
^ I'm not expert, but I assume it's down to the cognitive demands available. DID is a protective mechanism, so it stands to reason that it's a method of reducing the psychological and cognitive load on the individual. Like safe-mode on your computer. Basic functions and skills would be alright, but language is a rather high-functioning thing which would require much more effort - especially when it comes down to grammar etcetera. In this single sentence I have automatically corrected my predisposition to try and spell sentence with an a, grammar with an e, and so on. It makes sense it's simply these rules which have been corrected over time that aren't been followed.
I maybe wrong, though.
EDIT: That was aimed at Claire, though everyone else managed to get their post before mine (which only took 2 mins!)

oh I agree. Only really said about the alter thing as someone else had brought it up and asked a question which reminded me of what the psych had said. Though would like to say that even when it's a conscious choice though from what I have seen people sometimes have little control over it, it's like any saftey blanket/defence mechanism in that it can be hard not to fall back on
