Which is more gross???? *TW CONTAINS POLL*

Hello,

Please help settle a debate between my finacée and I. We have different opinions on appropriate ways to moisten a stamp and each think the other's method is gross.

1) lick the stamp (allegedly gross because licking stuff is gross)
2) dipping your finger in your water/squash and then dabbing the stamp with your finger (allegedly gross because it involves sticking your finger in your beverage)

Thanks for your help in this srs bsns investigation.

Offended by the lack of spoons and the implication that licking things is gross

I think the lesbians will disagree that licking stuff is gross. Also, lick the damn stamp- it’s literally designed to be ‘made wet’.....

yes confused? are your stamps not sticky????? like stamps here are like stickers and sticky so you do not need to do anything besides peel and stick.

No, our stamps require licking. No peel and stick option here

I have peel and stick stamps too!

I'm fine! Totally fine. I don't know why it's coming out all loud and squeaky, 'cause really, I'm fine!

Who else is fine?!?!?

I've not seen licky stamps in ages. The taste memory of them is coming back strong though, yuck!

Also, dipping stamps in a beverage - gross.

But saliva is also gross so now I'm confused as to what is actually worse!

They're both pretty icky if I think about it, which I'd rather not.

Haha, that should be a another option in the poll! Definitely more gross than saliva or beverages.

Let's just say, the results of this poll are making me consider faking my own death out of embarrassment at what I thought was a good idea...

UPDATE: one of my closest friends (to whom I send A LOT of mail) who doesn't post on RYL a lot these days popped on the other day, saw this thread then sent me a text message just to express their outrage at my stamp behaviours

my friend taught me to use a q-tip to wet with water then use that for envelopes. do you think that would work with stamps? i like it because no grossness required.
