Baby Owls (Pics)

Some owls were found nesting in a public park. Bird watching orgy ensued. ..

Aw, cute!

Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back, everything is different…

What type were they Jack? We in UK have Tawny, Long Eared, Short Eared, Barn, Little and Snowy. Yours are surely different - but then you have hugely more space and climate variation ...

As shadow light said above, its a great horned owl. Those are the most plentiful in this area but we have barn owls and (recently) snowy owls. The snowy owls scared people when they started to inhabit the open areas near the airports. This area gets a lot of the same birds Canada has. Raptors were scarce for a long time and now they are eveywhere. Wild turkeys are also everywhere and look nicer than people might expect.

Am I the only one who finds them terrifying?! They look like fuzzy demons!

I might be terrified of them if I hadn't seen a video of one after it fell from its nest. It was pretty awkward as it tried to get back up the tree (whcih it finally did).

They have some scary talons though. I also saw (in a documentary) that owls have feathers and wing motion that allow them to fly almost silently in the night. They swoop down ninja style

If you saw the pics of these birds eating they might not find them so cute lol. A striped bass after two raptors fought over it is hardly recognizable
