I am trying to pack lunches to take with me to work so that I can try to eat a bit healthier, but I'm running into a problem.
I'm bored of what I'm taking and I am low on ideas. Part of my problem is that I have to take enough for two meals sort of. Well, one and a half really.
I'm also the only one at work who brings lunch with them, but surely I can't be the only one who regularly brings lunch!
BBC Good Food Guide offers loads of recipes . You can enter the ingredients you like, and it shows you lots of ways of preparing them. You can experiment based on whether you have microwave and fridge xx
meat and rice, pizza, pie and mash, veg and noodles, cold pasta salad. I have to eat with 12 hour shifts on my feet or I feel faint, but even more important than food is a cupa tea! I don't get people that buy their lunch every day!
The 'main' bit:
*Pasta salad.
*Cous cous and roasted veggies.
*Sandwich.
*Soup.(If you have a microwave!)
*Tortilla wraps with hummus and red pepper.
*Cheese and crackers.
*Jacket potato.
Sides:
*Baton veggies like carrots/cucumber/pepper.
*Crisps.
*Roasted chickpeas or seeds.
*Celery with peanut butter.
*Cheese cubes.
*Croutons.
*Pretzel sticks with a dip.
*Chorizo (Chopped)
Sweets:
*Fruit.
*Grapes (I know theyre fruit but shh!)
*Yoghurt.
*Brownie square/cookie.
*Granola bars.
You can mix and match any of them ^_^ xx
There are times to stay put, and what you want will come to you.
But there are times to go out into the world and find such a thing for yourself.
I aint no abacus but you can count on me.
Its not a food list of what ive eaten in a day,its meal ideas.

I think the food lists of what someone's eaten in a day aren't allowed because they'd be unhelpful, and you'd probably get people posting small lists then saying they've eaten too much etc (on the ED board) which would be triggering for some people.
Whereas food ideas for standalone meals (especially in a general sense - as I get the impression this thread is just for recipe ideas, nothing to do with eating disorders at all!) are completely different - if that makes sense.
But as someone with [apparently] an ED, I dare not post on such threads, even if I had a good idea. I guess what I'm saying is people with EDs eat healthy sometimes too! Well, I do, sometimes, but maybe I'm weird like that!
my boyfriend makes a packed lunch for work everyday, and I have recently started doing so. He has sandwiches in his, and some crisps, a peice of cheese and a peperami. He varies the sandwich and the crisps each day but beyond that it's the same.
In my last job I used to make soup and take it to work each day.
A while back there was an article in the Guardian of packed lunch ideas, it had some great ones in it, might be able to find it online still
1 I am weird at work in that I bring my own lunch because at work I am allowed twen free meals a month, along with everyone else. I don't eat the food there for two reasons. I simply cannot eat most of the food we serve and I am trying to eat healthier and that doesn't include a lot of the food there.
2. Usually I take a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, carrots, and grapes for lunch.
2B. I do have access to a fridge, a microwave, and a toaster at work, among other things.
3. A "food list" like this is okay for several reasons. this is not all I am eating for the day, this does not state portion sizes, it is just varied ideas for one meal. Not too long ago we had a thread for picnic ideas and that was okay for a lot of the same reasons.
Ama, I tend to batch cook proper meals (pasta bake packed with veggies, cottage pie, a mixture of beans with pasta and protein) and freeze them. I can sometimes make enough food for 2/3 weeks worth of lunches. And if you get bored of one type, you just take something fresh one day and leave the meal from the freezer for the next day.

When i worked i used to make a sandwich the night before and put it in the freezer. The next day by lunch time it had thawed out and didn't even taste like it had been frozen.
I like what Liz has suggested and you could do that for winter lunches too.

I dont think anyone has said that?Im not really sure where or why EDs came into this :/

I usually make enough dinner to have a leftover portion for a lunch, then freeze it so I take it on a day where I didn't have the same thing for dinner.
Usually things like stir fry, curry, pasta with mince etc, easy casseroles.
I get so bored with sandwiches!
Then alongside that I have a muesli bar and fruit - mandarins, kiwi fruit, grapes or apple etc.
Even as the stone of the fruit must break
that its heart may stand in the sun,
so must you know pain.
There are only two ways in which one can live their life. One is as though nothing is a miracle, the other is as though everything is.

This is a great idea. Worst thing about living alone is eating the same meal five meals in a row!
It doesn't matter where you come from; it matters where you go.
No-one gets remembered for the things they didn't do.
We won't all be here this time next year,
so while you can take a picture of us.
We're definitely going to hell,
but we'll have all the best stories to tell.
Tomorrow for lunch I've made an egg mayonnaise sandwich, and I'm taking harvest chewee bar. Also in Tesco they do little bags of fruit that are 5 for £1.50, I like to get the grapes and Apple snackpacks (:
Then stuff like micro noodles, or sometimes I cook fresh noodles in a sweet and sour sauce. Or simple things like beans on toast.
I just wanted to inform you that this made me smile! I have an American staying, and she eats lot of PBJ sandwiches!!
Could you maybe try some different sandwich fillings to liven it up a bit for yourself?
I also wanted to say thank you for this thread! I literally can't think of anything to eat for lunch apart from ham and cheese sandwiches, but now I have loads of great ideas from here :)
