I've postered all the bus stops in the main 2 streets of aberdeen last night..
doing he uni today...
doing torry and cove on Saturday (and rosemount and the supermarkets if can)
and holding an information stall where selling orange ribbons (profit goign to charity) on sunday at the uni halls
I'll be keeping an eye out for your posters :p What streets did you do? Union st / belmont street maybe?
If you do the rosemount area.. make sure you put one near me so I can spot it easily!
Awesome ideas guys!! Very creative!! =D It's time the silence is broken about SI...even if it's one day at a time. :)
You have to remember that those scars are not who you are - they don't define you as a person. They're just..marks. Footprints from a different time...a different life. ~In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God. (Ps 62.7)~
~~If you need me, I am but a PM or
Facebook/Myspace message away! ~~
So...rustedchains and I could only have the flyers and ribbons on the table until 2:00 this afternoon...I'm not sure how many flyers people took - not too many, unfortunately - but we only got rid of ten ribbons out of about 120. It's better than nothing, but I'm still kind of discouraged. =(
At the same time, it's made me determined to figure out what more I can do - if there's anything I can do in the next couple of days, and for sure what can be improved for next year!!

Wow you really have been busy.
I plan on going into town tomorrow so I'll keep a look out for your posters on Union Street =]
Yeah we didn't get to do much. A professor did ask me about all the orange... it was amusing because Eiana was in the section before me. "You're the second person I've seen in orange today!" I told him. Meh. We have over 100 extra fliers. They won't let us go door to door or shove them under doors. =( Next year though... you can bet we are going to do something more.

Well done everyone on their awareness efforts. I got together with the deputy head teacher at my school and put together a display in a quiet place in the school where people can stop and read if they wish. Here's the display:

I think that's a good idea... could need a lot of organising though...
you could do something for mental health action week, that's not till the 14th(?) of april, the theme this year is fear/anxiety but I'm sure as long as it's mental health related it would fit
i anna make friendship bracelets.. with white and orange thread and give them to people as a kind of symbol of "your not alone" if you know what i mean.. good idea? bad idea?
i forgot how to make friendship bracelets..
and shadow =] i know it could take alot of organising, even if its for next year =] im not sure what i could do for the metal health action week... i shall get thinking =] x

so whos up for it? i know we have posters and things but surely there are other bigger things we can do to? actually holding i dont know like a "stall" in london or the other cities and handing out leaflets, selling ribbons and bracelets, promorting the day, because i had never heard of this day before i came to this site and i only came a few months ago..
i will make these bracelets soon, they wont be for tomorrow unfortunately but i will still make them because i think it is a nice idea =] x

I put in an application to the uni yesterday to for a society (mental health awareness - thougt it more likely to be passed if I did an umbrella society rather than a self-harm one) so next year I'm hopefully going to be able to do something BIG.
I guess the easiest way to organise something on here would be via a meet?
