sometimes yes... I think it's a case that the SI becomes like a replacement for more traditional forms of emotional release...

yeah i havn't cried for a long time now even though there are times i really need to. you definatley aren't alone. i think shadow-light (sorry i don't know your name) is right SI takes over from the conventional way to express you emotions.

I was the same. When I used to SI a lot, I wouldn't be able to cry. For any reasons.
I cry more often now, after trying to quit and cutting less often. But sometimes when I slip back into a routine thing, I stop crying again...

yeah, i know exactly how you feel. i can work up enough emotion to feel like i'm going to cry, but then for some reason the tears just never come.

Yeah, I get that. I find that making myself cry - like deliberately watching a film that WILL make me cry or reading a book - helps to get rid of some of that built up emotion. 'Titanic' is a good one... and 'Tarzan'....

I know what you mean before i started shing i would cry when i was upset or mad but now i hardley ever cry and then i feel stupid after for crying. Also i agree with what someone else has said or it just might be me thinking it lol.But becuase i sh before i cry weather its becuase i am sad or anger( sorry i cant spell) i have gotten used to not crying and people say its okay to cry but because i never cry when i need to i always cry when talking or something i feel stupid becuase of it and beat myself up about it.
