Sorry helping my friend out again...

She lives with her Mum and step-dad and her brother and sister (who are the children of her step-dad).

He step-dad treats her completely different to her siblings.

He constantly puts her down... He'll send herto her room for no reason or stupid reasons (She's going to be 18 in a week by the way)... He has ago at her weight - telling her she is morbidy obese, which actually she is underweight! And still losing. He stops her from eating. He controls basically everything!

He is now depressed and this controls her too because she feels bad if she upsets him. He threatens to kill himself a lot recently, which is scaring her because she doesn't want to loose him, dispite all of this. This man has been there since she was little; he's more like he dad to her.

She wants to get out of this situation so badly, but has no where to go!

He Mum also treats her unfairly... The past few months her Mum has been cheating on her step-dad with this other guy... who the step-dad has actually met! The Mum told her all about the affair, but not her siblings. My friend is guilt ridden in keeping it from her siblings and step-dad. She feels that if she tells it will rip the family apart... her brother and sister will hate her.... and her step-dad will go off the edge.

I assume from the title that you're wanting to know if this classes as anything?
sounds like emotional abuse to me...

has she spoken to anyone about this? apart from you obviously, I think that really she needs to get out odf this situration...

I thought it was Emotional Abuse Thanks for replying I thought I might be jumping a head as I am in a siuation with emotional abuse

Well, she has spoken to a few of her friends... and she has said it to the whole class (not that they notice what she is actually saying!) and I think she told the counsellor about it, but she doesn't go anymore. There only seems to be me thats really bothered, although one of our other friend does talk with her and listen to what shes got to say.

emotional abuse is a really hard thing to prove. it generally only gets brought up when there is some other type of abuse proven as well. Does she have any relatives? Is she planning on going to college? Maybe she can try to stick it out until then and also encourage her to go back to the counselor.

She already goes to college... and she's not going on to Uni when she finishes. She has no other relatives other than the ones involved :/ She doesn't have anywhere to go to either. I will try to encourage her to go back to the counsellor or maybe talk to someone else who can help, but she is so scared.
