People are like stained glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within

The Dangers of Artificial Sweetners.
Print
Those of us suffering from eating disorders have tried just about everything to lose weight or control our calorie intake. Among those efforts, for many of us, has been the consumption of diet soda. After all, it sounds almost too good to be true. Something with flavour that has no calories? Even dieters who are not "eating disordered" do what they can to control their calorie intake, including substituting high-calorie beverages with artificially sweetened beverages such as Crystal Light, Diet Pepsi or Diet Coke and the like, that are sugar-free or non-caloric. Interestingly, whilst cigarettes and alcohol come with consumer warnings about the dangers of using such products, items containing aspartame do not. Thus, we have a general public that is blissfully unaware of the dangers that they are being exposed to by consuming foods that contain artificial sweeteners. And the dangers are certainly not minimal. It is important to check labels. Look for aspartame and other artificial sweeteners. Educate yourself via the links provided below. Learn the names that mask this unseen danger and what products it is likely to be in. Easy point of advice: if it is a sweet product and sugar is not an ingredient, don't buy it. Below are links that I have selected throughout the past two years of my search for information. They are the best that I know of. If you are a diet soda drinker, or if you consume any product that contains artificial sweeteners, you cannot afford to miss these articles. - 892 Views
