I am currently:
manic ramblings *possibly triggering*

i'm really manic right now and i have no idea why. I went out into the rain to get something from the garrage and now i cant sit still. usually i only go like this after some serious sugar intake or red bull or coffee (not that i drink coffee, it always tastes yucky) anyway, i thought it was because i was cold but i'm no cold anymore and i'm sat in the kitchen waiting for my lunch to go ping in he microwave because i'm lazy and wont cook anything myself (not that i can cook anything deasent anyway, i'd just end up burning the house down LOL!). but yeah, how can i calm myself down? i dont know what to do! i've already tried cycling but it just gave me more energy and i couldn't keep going because, even though i cant sit still my leg muscles are killing me

so i'm sat in the kitchen waiting for food to cook and i start staring at the knife i used to pop the microwave thing with and wondering how deep i can go without majorly hurting myself. not that i can get hurt at the moment, i just want to know how far

so how should i calm myself down? any ideas?

how about reading a book? having a bath? watching a film? or using your energy to tidy or clean that can be quite theraputic. Hope your ok please dont cut hun x

I am currently:

If you think your dangerously manic and unable to keep yourself safe you need to contact your psychiatrist or the crisis team especially if your having thoughts about just "seeing how deep you can go".
Have you been taking any medication you are prescribed as you're mean't to. Also what has your psychiatrist said about your manic episodes? Would trying to have a hot bath and trying to chill yourself out work, or is it more serious than that?

I am currently:

i went back on the bike and did a few more km do get rid of my overly excess energy...it worked for the most part. i'm trying to put more energy into my school work now, try and get it all done tonight then i dont have to worry about it.

I also sang really loudly for what seemed like ages and flitted from piano to guitar to singing then doing 2 at once (ie piano and singing, then guitar and singing when i got stuck on either i'd switch)

are you bipolar? you can get manic without a reason. i kinda am right now (and really was last night)... is there a way you can make your mania useful? like last night i cleaned my boyfriend's condo (which took quite awhile :) )... sometimes i'll make things, like beads. i used to be able to do homework for 6-8 hours at a time while manic.

if you have anti-anxiety meds, that can cut the edge off the racing thoughts. be careful you don't do anything reckless however (including the cutting you mentioned). sometimes people also spend way too much on a credit card, have unprotected sex, and other things they wouldn't normally do during mania. i think the key is to stay calm and logical, and think "how can i direct this increase in energy (i.e. mania) into something good"... I mean you have it, whether you like it or not, why not let it be useful? unlike depression, mania can be good or bad. it's hard sometimes to control it, but try. it can't hurt. and you can always see a psych if it's getting out of control. they can put you on mood stabilizers which will help decrease it. it all depends on whether it's hurting you or not. and if you do get to the point where you're gonna cut, call for help. crisis can help calm you down, give you anti-anxiety meds, get you put on good long-term meds (if meds help you, they don't really me, but they do for some ppl). stuff like that. so yeah hope that helps. pm me if you like.
