With any lumps on the breast I think it's probably best to get it checked out as soon as possible. I know it's an embarrassing and unpleasant thing to have to go about but better than than end up with a bad diagnosis later on?

I had one similar when I was 24. I did get it checked out, and it was fine, and it did go once my period came, a couple of weeks later. Breasts can go all lumpy and such when you're pre-menstrual.

At the end of the day it's better to be safe than sorry. It's better to get reassurance. Lumps can be caused by stress and all sorts so it's likely to be nothing but I wouldn't risk it.
If you feel uncomfortable going is there no one that could come with you?

You can just pull it up. That's what I did. And you can ask to see a woman dr.

tbh when i read this and found you age i wudda thought it was to do with your hormones and the fact that your still developing ive had many lumps exactly where you said due to growth of the breast and they went within the week but i would get it checked out if your worried about it

Yeah; see what it's like tomorrow, if it's changed, grown or done nothing at all I'd go get it checked. If it is just to do with your hormones at least you know and dont worry!

Just letting you know that I had a very painful breast once, and it turned out to be an infection in a milk gland. I was about 16 at the time as well! It was from cutting - the infection in my blood had spread and settled in that place. I was getting blood poisoning from it, so needed immediate help.

Lumps and bumps in breasts can be all sorts of things, so yeh - as others have said, fight the embaressment and get a check up :)

Dunno if this has been advised earlier in the thread...eyes are too tired to read
But doctors advise that if you are on your period...you wait until you come off (as the lump may be purely hormonal and may disappear when you finish you TOTM)
But if the lump is solid and you are unable to move it with your fingers, then go to get it checked out ASAP
Either way...if you are worried I would go get it checked out...just to put your mind at ease.
Hope you're ok

You don't. at 16 you have (I believe) total control over your health; you can make appointments and the reason for them are entirely confidential- even you're parents are not entitled to breach the patient-doctor trust. Even if you take time off school, you don't need to give them the details- just that you're going t' docs.

I get lumps in my left breast from time to time. They're related to my hormones according to the doctor. So when I get them I know I'm gonna have a period in the next fortnight or so. (I'm super irregular)

But yer. Its best to get checked to put your mind at ease. Especially if its painful

yeah as the others have said i'd get it checked, it could be period related, as i seem to get that too just before my cycle, and i wouldn't be embarased about going to the doctors about it, ask for a female doctor and remember, they've seen everything before so you won't be judged or made to feel uncomfortable, all the best!

All we need is spuds
