I am currently:
Triggering (SI) - Writers Block

I hate writers block. The words used to flow so freely. now its hard to put together a sentence. I know what will make them flow again, but thats 'not allowed'.

The following content has been hidden - Reason : triggering
I just need to cut, see myself bleed. the words will come after that. all i can think about is cutting, pain, blood, my head is screaming to hurt myself so why am i stopping myself?


I've just had enough of it now. ARGH!!!

Kona it sounds asthough you are really struggling to express yourself. Is there a less damaging way in which you can express yourself?

It's a horrible feeling when you need to express yourself in some way, when you need to cry but it won't come.

I don't know what to say to help, but cutting yourself in the end won't help you. How about if you just try writing one word down to express yourself, and then take it from there?

i got Art-block when i gave up SH last year. i'm awful at writing so i guess that's mye quivalent of your situation. and also i find if i cut sometimes i concentrate better, so i assume there's a causal relationship between the two. and i think, i don't know about you, but maybe that relationship isn't really there, mayeb it's coincidence? or maybe we need an easier, simpler way to express ourselves sometimes before we can manage stuff like writing. i don't know, is there anything safe that would allow you to express yourself, like Too Shy says?

I have writer's block when my emotions are very, very numb and I struggle very much to express them. It is irritating as they then build up inside of me. So I very much understand how you feel.

This could be very triggering for you, but it sometimes works for me. Please, please don't try it if it will set you off. I wrote about the cuts, I wrote about the positives and negatives of self-harm and described stuff in some cases. If I couldn't write then I would listen to songs and get thoroughly absorb myself in them. Usually the singing and stuff would calm me down after a few days/weeks and I would be alright again.

Usually the writer's block is from being so het up and agitated and you need to find a way to calm yourself down- for me anyway. During a writer's block type situation I end up writing about a sentence a day about how I feel, at least I am writing something and that prevents my stopping completely.

Just try and keep fighting and giving up self-harming. You can do it.
