No,we are choosing moderators but we usually ask for Harleys opinion. There are other things preventing us from having new mods that Im not going to divulge,but hopefully it will be sorted soon.

Or alternatively could there be a section where we can post spammers names so whoever is available can get the spammers before they spam?

The RYL you are on is the third version of it. The first one was located on a site with lots of forums and called ezboards. The Title of that RYL was "Ruin Your Life" and not "Recover Your Life". The name was changed when the second version of RYL was created independent of ezboards - and with a new formalised, therapeutic perspective. "Ruin" was more exploratory and had a lot of "give" (there was even a collection of SI photos on site - scared more than a few people into getting more serious lol). It had a dimension of self-investigation and discovery. "Recover" version 2.0 was more structured. That's when more forums with more labels came into being, and people were segregated into various niches. RYL 3.0 (this forum) escalated that trend. Ruin had problems and had to change but I think it was more effective in ways before the bubble wrap stuff got layered on over the time.
ezboards. I was a member of a self harm site on there, but I could never remember the name of it properly. It was a busy one though. I wonder if it was ruin and I never realised. I know this is totally irrelevant to the discussion, sorry. *wanders off*
Well there were a lot of SI forums on there - actually a lot of all kinds of forums and I missed that. One SI forum I recall was "Scar Tissue". Evey couple weeks people would try their own forum on ezboards so they kind of all ran together in my head after awhile lol
Scar Tissue is still going. I have an SI awareness keyring with their website address on. I would have bought an RYL SI awareness keyring if they did them.
I have never joined their forums because they dont have a diverse range of forums as here.
