personally I was not diagnosed until I was at college (so I was 17/18 I forget which) the idea was suggested earlier in my life by my mum but the teacher she said it to said "dyslexia does not exist"

so all through school I got no help, I was considered to be "stupid" or just not to be trying. I think it's great that people now get laptops and things. Thing is though it's not just words that are an issue, it effects memory too, confusion with left/right, problems with processing the idea of and feelings caused by movement, "finding" words when having conversations, and even how people process emotions. I think people do write it off as "just a writting issue" far too easily
