I had similar problems before, I was experiencing extreme insomnia due to my anxiety issues. I normally don't take medications since I experience many different side-effects from them. What I did is I opted to try some alternative medicines. Herbal tea, milk infused with honey, Endoca hemp oil, and melatonin are some of the things I took that helped me sleep. I also tried meditation and hot bath before going to sleep. :)
