worn down

I am trying to ease myself back into doing things I used to like. But I find myself getting run down when I haven't done much. Has depression done this to you?

Hey Emily,

Not got many words but wanted to say that yes, depression does this to me. I do one little thing and it tires me out, to the point I have to plan one thing weeks in advance and if the plan changes, I can't go, or sometimes the planning runs me down so much I cancel. :P

The most important thing is to not blame yourself, to learn what your current limits are (and push them slowly if you can) but take it easy on yourself too :) xx

It's okay. It's okay not to have energy when you don't. Getting frustrated with it and trying to fight it will only cause you to have less energy. If you can, just accept it and know that this is how it is right now. Don't focus so much on the things you used to do but the things you do now. Let something small like going out for a short walk or making dinner for yourself be a success.

The way I am right now is super low energy compared to how I was before. It makes me exhausted to even think about some of the things I used to do. But you can't compare what you do now to what you used to do when things are not the same.
