Positive recovery post - Support after suicide attempt
Hi everyone im new here and im looking for advice on support after attempting suicide. I obviously wont go into it all but i had my most serious suicide attempt on friday and went into psychiatric hospital over the weekend and got out on monday morning.
I feel like my social worker is getting fed up with me and that people think im just not listening.
Does anyone have any ideas on support after a suicide attempt?
xx

What is it that people think you're just not listening to? What's behind feeling your social worker is getting fed up with you? Remember that she IS there to help you through this, and recover from the trauma of the experience, and develop safer ways to manage the difficult feelings that led to the attempt.

Look forward to something. I have had multiple attempts and each got worse -_- but! Identify what is bugging you to lead you that point, find a stable and positive support system, and work with people to get you back on track. I have found that a single person in my support system can influence so many things.
I hope all goes well for you. Look to the sun and you won't see the shadows

my social worker is my main influence and has been for 2 years but now i feel she is fed up and wanting rid of me. i called this morning to see if i could speak to her about a plan for low times etc. she asked if i wanted a new worker. i was quite upset she said it. i felt she was wanting rid of me.

Have you ever made such a plan with her before? Can you ask her why she asked?

ill probably ask her when i see her tomorrow why she asked about a new worker. mibbe shes been getting that impression from me? i have no idea. i always used to go to the social work office for our meetings but recently shes started coming to my house and just wants to stand out back playing with the dog drinking hot choc and smoking. i feel im getting no useful help from her and its upsetting because iv been getting useful info from her for years. i dont know wether to ask her to stick to meetings at the office from now on as i can focus there on the meeting and not on my neighbours hearing our conversation or that shes too busy paying the dog attention.

It sounds like she's distracted for some reason - it may not be about you. I hope your appointment helps today.

my appointment with my social worker actually went well today and we spoke about alot of stuff and how i feel about things recently. i think i was being a little reserved as to telling her what was annoying me and what i didnt feel i could cope with. mibbe now im back into the swing of things and that it will get better.
