Sometimes when we are feeling depressed, anxious, stressed or whatever, it can be easy to be blind-sighted by tasks... So I thought if we had a place where we can write down our days/weeks goals, we can sort of break down these overwhelming tasks and get a sense of accountability and accomplishment when we can do them.
Daily goals can be simple things, like making sure you get dressed today, or they can be more complex with details of the school work you have to do, for example.
Setting a couple of small challenges each day to do can really help improve your mood as it leaves you feeling like you've managed to achieve something even when things are tough.
I'll start.
My Goals for today are:
- Do some reading for uni (folder/textbook)
- Finish up the lecture notes
- Wash hair
My tasks (for when I wake up) are
- to go shopping (fun so I don't die of stress)
- participate in an online revision class
- listen to a lecture online & make notes
- Hand in job application (scary!)
- Go to a meeting
- Make it to the library for a bit
"I know you're sad, so I won't tell you to have a good day. Instead, I advise you to simply have a day.
Stay alive, feed yourself well, wear comfortable clothes, and don't give up on yourself just yet.
It'll get better. Until then, have a day."
My goals for tomorrow:
- Quick bit of clothes shopping
- Have finished reading a linguistics textbook
- Start gathering stuff for Uni into packable piles to be shoved in the car on Sunday
- Laundry
- And, if I get around to it, tidy my room a little so I stop freaking out over the state of it
Good luck everyone!
There are remarkable things all the time, right in front of us,
but our eyes have like the clouds over the sun
and our lives are paler and poorer if we do not
see them for what they are. If nobody speaks of
remarkable things, how can they be called remarkable?"
Clean up my apartment. I'm about half done.
One of the best ways to give ourselves a lift
is to have neat and clean surroundings. It
doesn't have to be spic and span... just tidy.
I hate housework, but it helps if I have the music
playing on my fav. radio station.
Great idea for a thread Jodie :) (I like using lists like these, if I didn't use them I doubt I'd get anything done )
My goals for this weekend;
- Do some reading
- Do some journalling
- Pick up my prescription
- Pick up a few groceries (not loads as shopping on weekends makes me stressed/anxious)
- Do my laundry
-Wash hair
-Tidy room
-Tidy house
-Find something I've lost (I keep forgetting so writing it here will help me remember to look)
-Find the other pretty important thing I've lost too!
-Study
a.Decide particular area
b.Find research to go alongside it
c.Formulate question/title
One done, two mainly done, three in the process, four yet to start, five found. Six can start later in the day once all the smaller tasks are out of the way. I know if I hadn't posted in the thread I'd probably only have done one of the things on the list so this thread's really helping
Also
-Sort out clothes, put away clean ones
-Put the washing on
-Dry hair
-Hoover
-Go for a walk
-Find something I've lost (forgot to look!)
-Finish tidying room
-Study
