How do you get up of the floor?

I'm so down I'm flat. Long term depression has me with no interest in anything and no incentive to do anything to get better. I'm just about numb and it's affecting my marriage. Any suggestions how I can recover my life. I guess lots of you have been there. Help

Hi Dussa,

I'm sorry that you're feeling so low. A lot of people here will relate to what you're feeling and may be able to give you the support you need.

Your best bets are to post either here:
http://www.recoveryourlife.com/forum...splay.php?f=44
which is the Mental Health support

or in The Veterans Support depending on your age.

I hope you get the support you need

Vicki

When numb it is difficult - obviously you don't feel much, rather than feeling I get this complete feeling/awareness of emptiness.
It all depends on what kind of person you are, for example I'm caring to a fault and any depression I've had hasn't taken that from me... I do things for other people and then I have a focus, because I'm not that important to myself I live a lot of my life for others.. not sure how healthy that is but hey it works when I'm really down.
Clearly you're concerned about the effect this is having on your partner so maybe take that as a starting point, I know recovery has to be something you do for you but just to give you an initial boost maybe start the focus on their feelings? Your own feelings are numbed so its hard for you to start recovering on the basis of feelings you don't possess at the minute.

Hope that makes some kind of sense.
Good Luck.
