This site has this section, and yet tonight in chat I was met with abuse

Really gutted - I wanted to meet like minded people. Never told people about my self harm before -

- thats sounds terrible. People who posted to my post were really kind, thank you. Chat ......

Terrible

So upset that a place meant for people like me, searching through the tears, and then find here, read the info and think ye. But its all not true. I have no words to say how gutted Iam.

I just hope other vulnerable people dont come here. And I know that sounds bad and really horrid, but I want no one to experience this

not everyone on here is bad..like the people who posted to your post they didnt treat you bad. Maybe just stick to postig instead of chat.Idk just trying to help. This site isnt bad and alot of people on here are nice and want to help. I hope this helps...please keep posting we want to help you.

I'm really not a big supporter of the chat, I think it's ground for too much bullying. *hugs gently* I'm sorry you experienced that. We'll be your friends, it's ok honey. Would you min telling what happened? You can PM it if you don't want to say here.

I saved the messages from chat. Feel rotten really, but I just never expected what I came across.

Was told my face would be smashed in ...

and the mod (or green) said ... I was too sensitive. I feel ok now, I have saved the messages - as this site suggests. And having read through, I did nothing wrong, was just really shocked,

I know, I am 29, oldish etc - but I am not daft. I just feel sorry for other vulnerable people who come this way.

And yet you both sound fab- so sorry to all those who are equally as fab

You're not old, there's plenty of people your age or older on this site. You might want to go to the Veterans board if you don't want to be around lots of teens or younger ones =P

Hi Omega,

I understand that chat can be frustrating at times, however in the RYL rules it does state that public complaints about RYL need to be brought up in Forum and Community Questions only.

I will PM you about this matter and I am very sorry that you have had a bad experience in chat. Chat is very much 'live' and so things can be said and not easily taken back, arguements can occur pretty rapidly in chat as well.It also very much depends on peoples different moods that day, I know that sometimes if Im having a bad day and Im in chat I can say things in a manner that I normally wouldnt,not because Im horrible,but because IM haing a bad day.

Please dont let it put you off, there are many members in chat who are supportive and caring.You did the right thing in collecting the chat log. Please dont let it stop you coming into chat though.

I just wanted to say that I agree with Liv, arguments in chat can fly up in seconds and sometimes people do say some not very nice things. Other times though it can be great. It's really just hit and miss :) Please dont let it spoil your RYL experience :) *hugs* hope your ok

Agreed. Chat is so fast paced and sure, sometimes things get said, but as a whole RYL is a great place. If chat is too much for you, don't use it! A lot of members choose not to because it is a very different atmosphere. Not that it is bad in general, just different.

chat sucks if I'm honest. Not everybody is like that here though. I understand how tough it is when you're feeling so vulnerable.
There are kind people here that are understanding and kind and if you ever want to talk then just pm me.
