According to scientists (who apparently have WAY too much time on their hands.) there are certain features that people look for when looking for a partner.
The ideal features that make a person attractive to others are large eyes, a pert nose and a small chin.
Sound familiar. it did to me. Sounded like a character from Anime and Manga.
So, according to scientists; we should all find these our ideal partners:
Audrey Hepburn
Allison Hannigan
Angelina Jolie
Christina Aguilera
Don't know about you, but they seem more frightening than attractive. If I saw someone like that I'd run away. Or stare and wonder what the hell is wrong with them

not all science is bullshit.
Some science is bullshit.
Some science is corporate PR masquerading as science.
But some is useful and makes a valuable contribution to society.
I very much doubt they meant to that extreme. I wouldn't say I like large eyes, but I do like nice eyes.
Same here, and honestly, I don't think I've ever known a guy who likes the beady-eyed, club-chinned, vulture-nosed look.
I can't help noting the irony in the fact that each of the women parodied in those pictures already have every last one of the desirable traits listed. Especially Audrey Hepburn.
But I'm a little biased, I'm slightly obsessed with Audrey Hepburn.
Now that's a better title :P
Better still will be "Some scientists talk bullshit or quite possibly journalists manipulate their research into sounding like bullshit". Unless you've read the original paper, in which case the journalism bit is unfounded.
I can kinda see their point though, the points mentionned (although not to the extreme) are found in young children and are the characteristics which apparently make us want to look after them.
I'm sure there was a study where 'baby-faced' people were deemed more attractive... any psychologists out there that can help?
I really am trying to not sound as if I'm talking crap here...
I think the world would be a cuter place if people really had eyes that big.
That's adorable.
Not all scientists talk crap though.
Now I'll play your ghost as my ace, whenever I'm led astray.
But I am actually good, can't help it if we're tilted.
I'm in my right place, don't be a downer.
I can see why baby-faced people can be seen as more attractive. Youth is apparently something people, particularly men, go for. I researched it for my psychology coursework.

Tried. It didn't fit.

Ah I'll let you off then :P
But seriously the amount of times journalist read the abstract of a paper and manage to make it sound like it's something completely different is ridiculous. but then again the amount of times the media manipulate anything into something it isn't is ridiculous!
Reminds me of Lily Cole who has that sort of alien-esque look.
I think thats because her eyes were too small in proportion to the rest of her head

I did and I lol'd at Harry.
Later I found out what the woman said was true. according to "research" that's the features we all look for in partners.

We did a test in Psychology to see what features made us say "aww", we saw babies, cats, kittens, puppies, etc etc etc, and only one person in the class said "aww". Now, either the Science is crap or we're just hard to please
