Do you think when you have a baby you could request if it had an innie or an outie?
Because surely because which way it's tied is wether it sticks out or not, maybe some midwives can do both!

Hmmm... Good point there! Something that should be discussed on QI!

It actully has nothing to do with how your umblical cord is tied or cut.
The belly button is a scar and its how the scar tissue forms. Like some people get keliod or hypertropic scars, the outie belly button just heals differntly. Sometimes things like a cahnge in weight can effect how it appears.
My friend had an outie an hated it so much she was going to get it pierced somehow so she could hide it.

I think belly buttons should be outlawed and made to disappear.

mine's an innie-outie too. =]
it's silly.
when I was little it was more of an outie.
I asked my mom about it and she told me it makes me special lol. =P
Now its somewhere inbetween.
Don't worry. I'm sure it'll always be a little bit of both as it's always been.
