help?

Although i've been cut free for over a year, the past couple weeks i've been really really triggered when i get upset or stressed. i have no idea why, it seems so much worse than it's been for months, and i don't understand.
i've managed to distract myself, but i'm really worried that soon i'll give in. the annoying thing is i thought i was over this, thought this time i'd be recovered for good.
i'm sorry if this seems selfish to ask for help, because i've been free for so long, but i'd really really like some support/advice. i'm tired of feeling like this.

Hun, you're not being selfish at all. Well done on not cutting in so long, it's great! I'm sorry to hear you've been getting triggered lately. *hugs* Could you make a uh-oh box to help you through the urges or talk to someone and hopefully find the causes of the triggers? It is absolutely not selfish to need help. Over the 19 months (congrats btw, thats awesome) you must've learned better ways of coping, can you pinpoint what you do different now and apply that?

what is an 'uh-oh box'? it sounds like a good idea
i think the reason i can't do what i normally do is because i don't really have the support network anymore, i'm less close with my closest friends, we're all leaving for uni in the next few weeks and have sort of drifted apart. i've also given up smoking which has left me a little on edge.
i'm worried about how i'll cope with the first few days of uni, the stress of not knowing anyone and having nobody to talk to might just push me in the deep end.

An "oh-oh"/happy box is a box (or other container... virtual or real - mine is virtual) that you fill with items that provoke happy memories and or feelings. Things like child hood items, photos of friends, any little messages your write for a person.

I keep some of my nicer messages and photos in a virtual kinda happy book (not really organised but yeah)... I try and provide things for my closest friends to remember good times by in the form of long rambly letters
