According to todays Metro, to keep cool you should drink hot tea and eat a cucumber sandwich. If you eat anything too cold like ice cream, it shocks your body and thinks you're cold, thus warming you up more.
Not much of a breeze from the sea... But apparently there must be something there because it's been hotter in Paris than it was here! Hope your trip goes ok Tom!

Placing your pulse points in cold water will cool you. So wrists and feet, and if you're able, a cold can behind each knee and a cold compress on your neck :)
