Were my fantasies to have become reality
Would I have held you, touched you, kissed you with no inhibitions?
I fear I’d have handled your love, your body, your passion
As if it would shatter into a million pieces beneath my fingertips
I forgot that you never were as delicate as I
A fool that believed precious is synonymous with fragile

I think about how things would have been different
If I could have carved this from something stronger
If I’d have had thicker thread with which to bind the pages of our story
I have nothing sturdier than the clouds in which I hide my head
And thus, my fantasies never became anything more

I like the lewis carroll saying. If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Its exactly how I like the world to be. nice words. the poem seems hearth broken. I too made a poem/song for a girl. I like your words: I forgot that you never were as delicate as I. that was genius. greath poem overall.

I have been heart broken, but writing and reflecting makes it better. She really always was a lot more adventurous and thick-skinned than I am, so that line was suiting. It's just sometimes the things that you admire about someone aren't always things that make you compatible with them romantically (but luckily you can retain a good friendship in those situations). Haha I definitely don't know about genius but I'm glad you liked it
