Yeah I've had the same thing with seizures if I am out. They just don't get it do they? I've also been told not to have a seizure on stairs or in roads, because it could be dangerous! Because obviously I get to chose when I have a seizure don't i?
best one for me was being taken by an ambulance that had seen me have a seizure and had taken me straight from where they found me and someone in A&E had a go about me wasting an ambulance, as if the ambulance crew would know not to take me. A&E got a lecture from the ambulance crew and were told to apologise to me as I was not responsible for their actions.
I don't bother getting myself there except under exceptional circumstances. I hate going to A&E.
With the advice thing that could be read in different ways. When I was admitted as a mental health emergency in England I was refused any treatment or care and was sent home with advice because I didn't live there (I live in the UK but not England) it was a nightmare. I've also been admitted to a hospital too late to be seen by a consultant for a physical problem and been sent away and told to come back at 9am the next day and self care until then as that was when there are consultants around to ask.
I know people do go unnecessarily (I was in A&E when someone came in with a sore throat wanting strepsils once!!) but also there may be other things impacting on figures like people 'just' leaving with advice.
