Has anyone had any contact with Remploy?

Has anyone had any contact with this service? I've just referred myself. Apparently should hear from my assigned vocational support worker within seven days. Just looking for experiences, really.

I haven't but I'd be really interested to see how it goes for you.

Had a phone call today to arrange a 30-45 minute telephone consultation for next Wednesday afternoon. The person I spoke to seemed nice. She mentioned putting a case together to get some Access to Work funding for some 1:1 "work coaching" to help with stuff like confidence building etc. She said that she could liaise with my employer for me, but that that would be completely led by me and they wouldn't get in touch if I didn't want them to. I'll let you know how next week's phone call goes, as I think I'll know a bit more about what the plan is after that. :)

Hope you find it helpful. They sound supportive and it's good that you get to make the decisions about which direction to take and what you're comfortable with doing.

I put it down on paper and then the ghost does not ache so much.

That sounds good Ducky, I hope they're helpful :) You should be proud of yourself for being so proactive!

do you like my potato?

Yes, I've used their service before. I had a lovely person who came to my house and had loads of useful suggestions. Then she left Remploy unexpectedly and I never clicked with the man who replaced her, so I didn't stay with them in the end which was a shame!

Old thread to drag up, I know! It's just that I received a letter today saying that access to work are going to grant me £850 to pay for ten work coaching sessions with these people: http://www.workingminds.org.uk
Fingers crossed this will really help. I'll keep you posted if you're still interested, Lillie. :)
