Okay, I know this is stupid and all, but I've left my Christmas shopping until last minute. My family wasn't going to buy for everybody this year (we're not that big on this holiday) and they kept changing their minds, back and forth, and now we have to buy something for everybody. I've got my dad and my brother sorted, because they are easy to buy for, but...
My Mum is notoriously hard to buy for. She's returned practically EVERY Christmas gift she's ever got from me... and my dad. My brother's been away so he didn't get her anything in the past.
Anyway, in the past I've tried buying her perfume, expensive face cream, make up, dvd's, books, jewelery, bath and shower stuff, a magazine subscription (and she liked the magazine =/), a camera, clothes, food hampers. Nothing works. She either returns it or gives it to somebody else.
What am I supposed to do? I can't think of anything and to be honest I don't want to buy her anything at all, really, because it is quite horrible when you've done your best to pick out something you think somebody is going to like and then they hate it.

What type of things dose she like? What does she spend her money/time on?
Does she like eating out? (maybe vouchers for her fav restaurant?)
Failing that you can always go for vouchers to her fav shop, but thats not very original.
I found something I think she'll want. She has back problems, always complains of feeling cold during the night... she said she's wanted an electric blanket for ages. So I've reserved one, picking it up tomorrow.
Don't think she's likely to return this gift.
