Visiting Cardiff.

So on Saturday I'm going to be in Cardiff for reasons I won't go to in this thread. It's going to be a very busy day, going to be busy from 10:30am til around 4pm but if I can grab a spare 5 minutes what should I go and see?

I've never been to my capital city so don't know what's worth looking at, keep in mind i'll only have around 5-10 minutes to sight see and I have to stay pretty close to the Unite offices/TUC offices on Cathedral Road.

Cardiff castle and the bay area are good, but I doubt you will have the time. I went to a very nice pub but that was by Sofia gardens.

I have two aunts that live in Cardiff.

I'm glad it worked! And yes, if you buy nesquik too or go to a tesco/sainsbury's/asda

Also like Jenna, I love Cardiff too

Mmm...This is a good idea, I think i might get myself some chocolate milk for the long trip down (lucky I don't have to change trains but leave Wrexham at like 6:30).

The castle is fairly close to Cathedral Road and the millennium stadium is a little bit further. The bay would be hard to get to because you'd have to catch a bus so probably wouldn't have time. If I were you, I'd just find a nice pub! :P

Ohh a castle?! May have to keep my eye out for that but it seems like a nice pub is the way to go, do you know if there are any near Cathedral Road?

Sounds like a good way to end the day! You won't be hard pressed to find a pub in Cardiff! But yeah, I'm pretty sure there's one on Cathedral Road :)

The castle is not far from cathedral road, nor is the welsh assembly buildings, or queen street. Many things Mike, many many things.

I can point you in the direction of a few good drinking holes.

Porters(harlech court)- Nice indie folky sorta place, very relaxed and live music most days, they also have a seperate cinema room
Pica pica(westgate st)- Nice cocktail bar, do some alright tapas too.
The prince of wales(st mary's st)-Worst pub in cardiff, avoid.
Bunkhouse bar(st mary's st)- Some bars have a sofa, if I remember correctly this one has a bed. It's also a backpackers
Fire Island(westgate st)- All things meat a million different beers and barrel aged cocktails. Had an interview a while back and the bastards didn't hire me but hey who has time to hold a grudge
Walkabout(st marys st)- I'm yet to visit but everyone I work with bangs on about. Fairly large club from what I've gathered.

Ah nearly forgot bogiez, It's the rock bar and its everything you'd expect from a rock bar. It's a basement its dark its loud and the toilets are horrendous. Oh and they also serve beer in 2 and a half pint handle glasses! It's right on the tip of queen st opposite the castle
These are all near the castle area. If you only have time for one pint choose wisely.

Woo Cardiff!! Cardiff Castle and the Bay are nice :) I've never actually been to the Castle though! Bute Park is nice too but quite far away from where you are.

Also if you happen to be wondering around the Bay area and manage to get a little bit more that 5-10 minutes (The Taff river) at around 12pm there is a Varsity boat race between Cardiff and Swansea Uni :P

Have you ever looked fear in the face and said "I just don't care"?
