Basically, you know the feeling when you click your knuckles?
Well, every so often I can feel that happening in my heart/where my heart is.
It happens more often if I'm laughing or coughing or something and it hurts for a little bit afterwards.
Does anyone know what this is? Or why I'm getting it? Or any of those questions.
If worse comes to worse, I'll go and see a doctor, I'd just rather find out as quickly as I could..to see if anyone else has it too or anything.
Comments saying "See your doctor" will not be appreciated. :P
I'm gonna tap him like a maple tree. I'm gonna search him for some syrups. I'm gonna be having sex with him.
There is a big difference between in your heart, or in your ribs over your heart. Can you tell which one it is?
Well it breaks my heart to see you this way,
The beauty in life, where's it gone?
And somebody told me you were doing okay,
Somehow I guess they were wrong.

The first thing that comes to mind when I hear you say popping is pneumonia. Though it's not in your heart precisely, your lungs are near there, and pneumonia is characterized by crackling and popping sounds.
Have you had difficulty breathing lately, been running a fever, coughing frequently, or having "productive" coughs? If you have, I think that pneumonia would be a fair bet. You did mention a bit of chest pain, and that it's worse when you do cough.
If you have pneumonia, it could be viral or it could be bacterial. Either way it's treatable, but don't wait for it to go away on its own as pneumonia can become quite serious.

We really don't have any specific information to be hazarding guesses as to what the problem is. I can easily think of about 10 different causes of the symptom, all depending on if it's in the ribs, lungs or the heart.

Since you're saying it's in the heart, i'm more inclined to think you are having occasional irregular heart beats.

Its interesting you posted about this. Ive had something possibly similar. Only for me its painful and the pain gets worse if I breathe deeply, then it 'pops' and Im fine again. :/ (For me its probably to do with my ribs, but it is always over one side of my chest over my heart, so who knows)
Whatever it is, see your dr, they can listen to your chest or do an ECG if they're worried. Im guessing its a new symptom, so see someone fairly soon.
