Tongue & throat problem.

So, i have these bumps on the back of my tongue. They are raised and itchy.
My throat feels alittle sore. And i think my tongue is a little bit swollen.

Any ideas what this is anyone?

It's really hard to say without seeing it. I take it there isn't a white covering over your tongue?

My first thought is it may be the start of an infection (viral or bacterial) and it's the immune response you're seeing but I can't say for sure. If you want feel free to put pics of THIS in the FAF or PM me with them though it is a notoriously hard area to take pics of (most people who've discussed this with me have taken them off a mirror in front of them) and partly due to that it's hard to see what's going on.

Have you tried anything to relieve the soreness/ swelling at all? Sucking on ice cubes may help, the same as cough sweets/ honey may help if your throat is getting sore. If it becomes really bad and you feel ill then go to your doctor but if it isn't too bad then you could just sit it out/ got to the pharmacy and see if they can help you but it is hard for me to say.

I take it you're fine otherwise?

Nope, no white covering.


According to this ^ its the circumvallate papillae. Im aware they are normally there, but they seem bigger. And thats where is itching i think. Maybe further back down my throat. I have taken an allergy tablet. & will probably take another later.

I feel fine otherwise. & Think the tongue swelling has gone down too.
