My doctor is amazing, I know she is only doing her job, but I am considering either making or buying her a card to say thank you for the help she has provided me with.
Do you think thats a bit weird or is it something you would do?
Do you think theres anything else I could do to say thank you?
Let me know what you think xx
Thanks :)
Hope everyone is well xx
Also I cannot think of anything else that you can do to say thank you that won't appear creepy!
What sort of things would make one appear creepy?
My current psych is pretty good and we have a good understanding. When I eventually leave the CMHT (or when she leaves), which will probably be a while from now, I will give her a card and a small present to say thanks.
PM me if you want a PDF copy of the ICD-10or the Mental Health Act 1983/2007. I ALSO HAVE THE DSM-V BOOK and am a pharmacology student.
I have a visual impairment / neurological problems so I need people to type in clear text and no funny fonts. Also excuse any typos, my vision blocks things out.
I have autism and have problems communicating, PMs included.
Just becasue I type well doesn't mean I speak well. I am only part time verbal.
I never knew about this day, but always appreciate my doctors. I give Xmas cards to any professional I happen to be seeing around that time and a present to the most significant. It's never been deemed creepy, however I've managed a strong and friendly rapport with anyone I see for a substantial amount of time.
Stop thinking about what I want, what he wants, what your parents want. What do you want?
I didn't know there was a Doctor Appreciation Day. I guess I should have expected it since there's a day for everything!
Personally, I won't be sending a card but I think that it's a lovely idea if your doctor really helps you and you get on well. A card will mean a lot, I would imagine, so I'd stick at that. If you want, you could buy something else but that's up to you. It's a nice thought :) I'm sure your doctor will appreciate it.
My GP is amazing. He has put up with a lot of crap from me and despite that has always been super supportive and is always fighting my corner. He even got me seeing one of his old friends in the CMHT to see me, who is also really lovely. I have thinking of getting my GP a thank you card, and this confirms it. I'm getting him a card.
wait...did I misunderstand the purpose of this thread? O_O

I gave a ward psych a nice fountain pen as a present once when I was about to get discharged. This was because he had really helped me get from being on 2:1 obs to being well and functioning in the community.

Is Doctor Appreciation Day well known in the US? If so maybe just say thanks and why you appreciate him?
If it isn't well known maybe a bit about the day?
