Can't relax

Is there a good sleeping pill that can knock you out for 12 hours? I don't like spare time, just want to sleep, don't want a hobby, watch films, only OK when at work, & doing stuff I need to do, otherwise spare time thoughts racing just want sleep.

I think therefore I ambient.

You'd have to talk to your doctor with regards to any sleeping pills.

How much sleep are you getting at the moment?

No other sadness in the world would do

I get enough sleep, I quite enjoy weekdays, I like my job, & have a good routine, get up about 3:30am, watch the last movie on Sony Movie Channel, go to bed 8:30pm, it's just weekends I don't like, just want to sleep right through it.

I think therefore I ambient.

I think I can understand where you're coming from. It can be hard to stay occupied during unstructured free time. What does your job involve? Are there any skills you can use or activities you can do during the weekends that are similar to what you need to do at work? I'm not sure if you'd want to be doing work type things all the time though. Maybe you could stick to a routine at the weekend and spend time outside doing something during the hours when you would be at work. I know that it's difficult to find interests and activities to keep you busy and I know you said you don't want to watch films or find a hobby but if there was something you could occupy yourself with then that would be better than nothing. Sometimes just forcing yourself to do something that might be enjoyable even if you don't want to do it can be worth it, such as watching a film.

Do you know of any strategies to manage your racing thoughts that you find you have when you have spare time? Mindfulness is supposed to be quite good.

I hope you can find some way to make things better.

I put it down on paper and then the ghost does not ache so much.

Don't try to calm the storm, calm yourself, the storm will pass.
