*Hugs* Flashbacks can be hard to deal with. Here is a link on Practical Advice For Flashblacks that you may find helpful. Remember that the flashbacks will pass. Please don't cut, you don't deserve to be hurting anymore than you already are. Take care

I want to make a suggestion - but please do not lynch me if it seems to make no sense I am no psychologist after all. i have heard many times that an effective method to conquer certain types of phobias and other negative emotions is the conscious contact with the very triggers that cause these emotions. F.ex. a person who is totally afraid of flying in a plane can over time lose most or all of his fear regarding this method of transportation by actually starting to fly on a regular basis. first of course very short flights and maybe with the support of an anti-anxiety drug. Then the program is intensified more and more until the patient will one day be able to even take part in an intercontinental flight without suffering a panic attack. *Maybe* this can work in regard to flashbacks, too. If you try to constantly think about certain triggers that can cause the flashbacks, your soul might slowly get more "used" or rather desensitized to such thoughts (it is in a way a kind of oversaturation). So after some time, even "accidental" triggers that happen to "enter" your life will cause far less severe reactions. Of course you would have to start slowly and not with a massive trigger - just something that causes a *little* discomfort. I have read somewhere about this method but right now I cannot find the appropriate link...
