Have you been using your PC a lot recently? It might be that it's sprained or pulled from using the mouse.

It's the ups and downs of living life this way. Promise me you'll never go away. Just stay with me through one more night because it's always darkest before the light and now I promise you I'll never turn away. I won't let you give us one less heart to break...

It's unlikely be due to using the mouse. That can cause wrist problems but would be highly unusual to cause upper arm ones as you don't tend to use that much when controlling a mouse.

When did it first start being painful? Does anything seem to improve it or make it worse? Were you doing anything different yesterday? Has it improved throughout the day?

Yeah, if it's swollen you could try putting ice on it (with a damp towel between the ice and your skin) or if it feels more like the muscles you could use a heat pad. Don't use ice for longer than 15mins in every hour.

If it doesn't start improving or worsens over the next few days then get t checked out. Though GP surgeries may not be open as much over the new yr and they def won't be open on new yrs day, they will have out of hours GPs which you can arrange to see as well as A&E if you really feel you're having serious problems with it.
