...Surely WoW counts as substance addiction too?

Reefer Madness was awesome. Watching it while sober is not the way to go, though. Requiem for a Dream was as terrifying as it was good - I think it should be taken down from an 18 certificate and shown in schools as drugs education.

I remember the first time I saw Requiem - 1st year at uni after Christmas break there were only 3 of my group of mates back at uni so we sat and watched Requiem. We didn't say a word to each other for the entire film, I was in tears by the end and we all decided we then needed some sort of substance to forget the horrors of what we'd just seen! It's such a brilliantly well-made film and it's so easy to get completely drawn in to it.
I watched it last year having not seen it for a while and my housemate came to check on me because he heard me crying. Lol!

How can you possibly leave out Less Than Zero? Or Spun? Or Salton Sea?

Requiem for a dream is one of my fav movies of all time but Fear and Loathing should be in there .in no other film has such abuse been known ,they are off their heads at all oppotunities ,like no other ,and in the book too .The author was a lunatic as well ,good list though i have seen all the modern ones ,not the old ones ,But Fear should be in there

QFT. I love A scanner Darkly, reading to the book is proving difficult though. I keep flicking back to the last 2 pages where PKD dedicated to book to the people who've died or had permanent damage caused to them by drugs.

I was wondering why Human Traffic isn't on there, but I guess it's more about drug taking than actual abuse. Neeeed to see Requiem...
