Miscarriage
Hi, I've never posted in Veterans before but I am at a loss at the moment.
Four weeks ago today I had to go to hospital for a D&C after finding out a few days before that the baby I was expecting had stopped developing and the heart had stopped. I was three months pregnant.
I guess I just need some advice on how to move on, or know that is normal to feel this crushed. We didn't plan the baby but we were so happy and excited.
I stopped sh'ing over 3 years ago and for the first time in a long time I have had thoughts of turning back to that, I've also been drinking a lot more which isn't helping.
Sorry if this is in the wrong place or it's a pointless post.

Hi, I'm so so sorry for your loss, I've had 2 miscarriages myself (and 2 healthy babies born) but found it devastating. I don't have much advice for getting over it except recognise its a bereavement and let yourself grieve and maybe say goodbye in someway. I fell apart after my first miscarriage and stupidly listened to the people said "well it wasn't a baby yet" and "at least your plumbing works". You've lost a baby and deserve to grieve. It does get easier but talk and don't hold it all inside.
Big hugs x

I'm so sorry for your loss. I think it's good you're asking for support - this isn't a pointless post at all.
Maybe you could do something to say goodbye to the baby? Let off a balloon or burn a candle, that sort of thing. It can help give closure x

Hey like loops I have 2 and have lost 2, it's hard, it's not your fault and things can be ok again. There's no reason you can't have a Normal pregnancy following a miscarriage, when the time is right for you x
