Does this happen to anyone else?
When I get extremely stressed or upset my arms ( which is where I cut) start to burn and throb and my scars become visible. Does this happen to anyone else?

Mine don't get anymore visible but then mine are very red and raised anyway. I do however find that they do get very itchy and painful if I'm stressed out. As of yet I've not found a way to ease it at all. It's good to know someone else understands it all though.

I agree! It's very nice to know someone who understands. I've found that putting ice on it helps.. Which is great if I'm home. Not so much when I'm not though.

you might try rubbing alcohol based hand sanitizer on them... its a trick i've figured out at the gym to cool down cause my arms get hot and red when i work out... when it evaporates it cools down your skin because it takes the heat away, and it evaporates quicker than water

this is my magical medicine cabinet. Left to right they contain: courage, hope, calmness, and strength.
The magical part: They NEVER run out, so borrow some any time you want.

The only thing more unthinkable than leaving was staying; the only thing more impossible than staying was leaving. I didn't want to destroy anything or anybody. I just wanted to slip quietly out the back door, without causing any fuss or consequences, and then not stop running until I reached Greenland.

♥ .I'm going to fall like I don't need saving. ♥
...My smile's just the armour I built when I was alone...
There was some part of me that hurt so badly, that I wouldn't ever be able to forget it.
It faded but the memories could bring it back any second, keeping me in the moment.
It would never fully heal. I could never really be free. I could never really be fixed.
Now I just have to work out how to live whilst being broken.
I feel like I'm dying.

I hit rather than cut, but when triggered my legs start to tingle. So in a sense yes. I get that too.

I have the very same issue with my scars when I am under a lot of stress. It is very much a reminder for me to try and do some self-care and soothing. I use it as an early warning system rather than as a trigger (as I used to in the past). I thought I was the only one that experienced this. Thank you for bring up the question.

It sounds to me like a psychosomatic reaction and the stress causing your pulse to increase making your scars appear more visible?
It does happen to me too, certain ones get itchy. It's annoying as ****.
Hope you feel better soon :3x

Just tonight, I wont leave and I'll lie and you'll believe. Just tonight I will see, that it's all because of me
