Id kill to play violin.
I tried twice in middle school, but when the strings can comfortably touch the board because of not practicing...yeeahh
Ive also tried the flute, saxophone, drums, and guitar. I learned three notes before the lessons ceased.
Im taking piano though next semester, I am so excited :D. It's for credit too so I wont just slack off on this.
I played trumpet to grade 7....still have it and want to pick it up but uni is getting in the way....soon....can polish it and get out some of the old tunes!
You made up your mind to torture mine!
If you read a scar like a book, you will relise the story in which you over look
i started playing when i was 8 and had lessons for 10 years. i played all through high school in the orchestra and completed up to grade 6 (Trinity exams). now i just play every now and then. i love it!
Yeah ours go up to 10.
Not in ever intrustment, there are like...3 different grade thingys you can do i dont know what the difference is. I didnt ask i just did them?
And its a recorder...its a dummy instrument, in that, theres HUNDREDS of grades :p
It isn't like an acoustic one. The sound is better, and with the amp it sounds cooler ^^.
Plus you can get them in cool shapes and you can turn the volume up and down on the amp so you can like practice really quietly or if performing you can like turn it up so it's louder :D
Ah, I've always preferred just a normal violin, but then I prefer acoustic guitars too. I spend half my life listening to classical music (I work in a concert hall) so I tend to prefer the more traditional stuff.
What kind is it? I've been looking at different electric violins and I'm thinking of getting a Yamaha sv-120, only because its the only one within my budget :)
Any advice on picking out an electric violin? What about a pedal?
I play the violin, started when I was 8 but gave up after a year or so because my teacher was a right bitch to me over having to take time out of her lessons so I could attend the violin lesson. For some reason she singled me out over it despite there being some others in the class who also had violin lessons at the same time. Anyway she got pretty nasty about it and it got to a point where my mum had to go into school to speak to the deputy head about it, but by then I was so scared of this teacher I decided the easiest thing was to quit. Didn't take it up again until I got to secondary school. Didn't do any grades but played as part of an orchestra for many years. :) Play for myself these days rather than anyone else.
I played the violin for 9 years, did AMEB up to grade 6.
I've been playing the piano for 6 years, and am doing grade 8 and then will hopefully do my letters =D
I played the cello for a few years in primary school too, but never really got anywhere with it.
Also am self-taught in the guitar. I'm not too bad, though. Weee.
