A question about...hair?

I didn't really know where to post this, I guess here is most apt
So basically, I've been blonde for alllll my life and I get highlights and such once a month, but now it won't grow, due to damage from the bleach and I've decided to go darker.
What I'm wondering is, do you guys think I should go to a hairdressers to get it done properly (keep in mind I have like noooo money at the moment) Or just get a simple box colour from boots? Are they reliable enough to not turn my hair green? If I do go for the box option, should I wait for the bleach to completely grow out my hair, or do you think it would be okay to just dye it straight out as soon as possible?

I could still stay blonde, but i do want my hair to grow lol, and I'm not happy with my natural colour (:

Because you have highlights, if you want an even colour your best going to the hairdressers. You can do it yourself but you are going to have different shades of the colour, ie its going to be light and dark because your hair isnt all one colour.

If your hair is bleach damaged, I'd strongly advise to make sure you use a good conditioner and make sure you eat well and get all the vitamins and minerals. I would think this would be better to do for a while before deciding to dye it again. I know it can feel uncomfortable when you're growing colour out, but the condition of your hair in the long term is really more important.

It looks terrible with roots though, I can't stand it. I'm going to wait and go to a hairdressers, I'm too scared of bad results if I don't. Thanks, I'll let you know how it goes :) x

If it won't grow and it's damaged dying wouldn't be the best thing at the moment, a cut would. I think you should go to a hairdresser for this one, but some of the places where the highlights were might be darker after (mine were) so I dyed it again before school to cover it up.
