So I got raped by a guy twice when I was 15, he was a family friend at the time, and a year ago I moved from New York City to where I am now. Two weeks ago he appeared and raped me again. Then three days ago, because I was afriad to tell the police, he ended up raping me again. He is now in custody of police.
Is it normal for an abuser to follow a victum to different countries? Let alone re abuse them?

Hey,

I don't know about countries but my abuser stalked me in my new city which was over 100 miles away. And continued to for almost six years until he was jailed for a mixture of offenses.

I would encourage you to keep in close contact with the police and keep them informed and press charges if possible.

You deserve better than being afraid.

I think it's fairly common for abusers to stalk. It's a display of power and control, intended to make you feel unsafe. I'm really glad you were able to call the police. Do you have any support? Have you talked to any counselors or sexual violence organizations? This sounds very traumatic and awful to deal with, and you deserve to feel safe and get support for what you're going through. I hope the police are being helpful and making sure you're safe from him and have what you need.

It was my uncle whom came across him raping me in my house and he knocked him out and then he called the police. I have a nice counsellor whom comes to my house for appointments. I like her.

I'm very glad your uncle was there to interject so that the police could be called. And that you've got a good counselor too. You deserve so so much better than to be treated like this by this man and I'm so sorry this has has happened to you. You sound like such a fighter though because you're still here. I feel slightly safer since he is in jail and i moved to New Zealand.
