I was supposed to have my depot on Wednesday. Unfortunately nobody turned up as my regular cpn is on holiday. I tried phoning the cmht a few weeks ago and nobody was answering the phone. I tried yesterday and it's the same. If I went to a&e would they give my depot?

I feel as though I am not ok and the last thing I want is to be is IP. My cpn tells me to phone the cmht if I feel suicidal how the fuck am I supposed to get help if nobody answers? My health board has been slammed in the media for being so crappy. Somebody I know had a friend who was in a &e for being suicidal. They got sent home without any support. Two days later he killed himself. That's how crappy it is.

I am scared.

I know I am not super familiar with the health system there. But I am unsure if hospital could do the depo for you, it seems rather unlikely.

I think seeing if your GP could do it sounds like a good option? Or is there an out of hours nurse or doctor line you could try to phone to ask, or get a family member to phone for you? Ugh that sounds immensely frustrating. I know you've had issues with this and nurses before, and it sounds like they are not giving you proper support. I'd also wonder if you could file some type of complaint?

The gp won't do depots around here it's the cmht or a nurse if you're IP. I can't phone 111 as that's for England only and I live in Wales.

I guess that being here is a start. I have been a month before between depots and I haven't ended up IP. Just so frustrated at the cmht.

Could you phone your GP and explain the situation? Maybe even if they won't do it, they can give your CMHT a nudge up the ass? Or are there any type of mental health advocacy organizations you could go to about it to see if they can help you? Short of that, maybe just turn up in person at your local CMHT office and kick up a fuss? Phone calls are easy to ignore, it's much harder to ignore you when you are standing right there.

Thanks everyone. My cpn has phoned me and is coming this afternoon. She didn't explain why nobody came which is making me feel as though I have done something wrong (I accidentally sent a friend request on Facebook to the cpn that was coming I am wondering if that's the problem even though I cancelled straight away) and got me even more anxious than the appointment would normally cause. I would rather be told straight away because I am a worrier and deal with it right now.

That's good your CPN is coming. I think it would definitely be worth asking why nobody came, you deserve an answer and hopefully it will put your mind at ease and help them make sure it doesn't happen again, as you should be receiving your medication as prescribed. It's most likely an oversight, but it's a pretty bad one.

Thanks for your reply Soft Kitty. It could be the case that my regular cpn forgot to leave the medication sheet as they have forgotten it before when I have had to have a change of cpn. Unfortunately without the meds sheet they can't do the depot. Or the fact that they had an emergency.

I had to take a diazapam because of the fact that I am very anxious.

My cpn came. Apparently the other cpn forgot her diary the other day so didn't realise she had an appointment with me. So it was nothing I did. She was coming out today but been as my regular cpn was in she did it instead. So I am feeling relieved.

I'm glad you managed to get some answers, it's so easy to think of scary conclusions rather than other explanations about what might have happened. I hope you can relax for the rest of your day.
