I made a thread on here a couple of days ago, about going to my GP for help with my ED (you may have seen it or not, I don't know). Anyway, she referred me to a dietitian and somebody from the hospital called me today.
They said to me that I had two options: I could either be seen at the hospital, or at a clinic in Milnthorpe where the dietitian works on a Friday. They said if I chose to be seen at the hospital, it would take four months... but if I wanted to see her as quickly as possible, it would be best to go to Milnthorpe because she doesn't have as many patients to see at that clinic. I said I'd go to see her at Milnthorpe, and then I was told that I could see her this Friday.
That's pretty quick for the NHS, isn't it?
I'm amazed. I wonder if it's because I'm described as an 'urgent case' in the referral letter (I saw it by accident, my parents got sent a copy). So, I accepted the appointment... and now I'm quite scared. I'm scared that I'm getting help this quickly, but I'm also really happy.

That's fantastic. I think seeing a dietician should be easy, unfortunately it is generally not. You've got lucky, eh?!

That is very quick for the NHS. Wishing you the best of luck for Friday, you've done so well by asking for help, I'm not surprised you're nervous but I'm sure you will be just fine. Nerves are normal.

I'm sorry I haven't managed to get on here in a while, my internet at home has decided not to work so I'm at the library right now!
I went to the appointment, and we had a chat about healthy eating and why purging was bad etc... and then she gave me a food diary to fill out for seven days and said she would refer me to another member of the team who specialises in Bulimia.
I'll try and get on again soon.
